Guide for Managing and Setting Up Routes and Lines
General
- Routes are managed and created via the “Lines” tab.
- Existing lines are displayed in the list.
- They can be edited or deleted via the three dots on the right side.
- Routes can also be copied/duplicated. This is useful to avoid changing the main routes and instead make changes in a duplicated version first.
- Only activated routes (also via the three dots) are displayed to the driver in the ioki Route app.
- ioki Route distinguishes between “lines” and “routes”. Lines usually include several routes. While lines are only used as a naming shell, routes refer to exact travel paths and stop sequences. Typically, at least two routes are created for each line, one for each direction of the bus line.
Add new line
- A new line can be created using the “+Line” button.
- In the menu that opens, you can define the name, description, and external ID.
- After creation, the newly created line will appear in the list.
Generate new route
- After selecting a line, any number of routes can be created.
- For a route, you need to define the line, route number, and description.
- Stops can be added either by selecting them from the drop-down menu or by clicking on the stops on the map.
- After clicking the “Create Route” button, ioki Route automatically calculates the optimal travel path between two stops in the background.
- This generated travel path can be modified by editing the route segments (siehe Route segments)
